Guardian Angel of the Unborn statue unveiled at Guadalupe Shrine

Fowler and Hammer installed the Guardian Angel of the Unborn on Friday.

The 1,500 pound bronze statue towers in the memorial of the unborn. It serves as a symbol of protection for the miscarried children in the mausoleum.

"We want to emphasize the value of human life and that these miscarried children have be interred lovingly, and they're not something that we just cast aside, and that they are loved and cared for. And it's meant to be a very healing place,” said Jack Socha, of the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe.

The statue was funded through an anonymous donor. It should last for several hundred years and is on display every day.
