Dying parish, buried lede

I've been told the most interesting news in a Milwaukee Catholic Herald article is usually in the middle.

Or in this case, perhaps tied with the headline, which you recall was Muslim Group Purchases South Milwaukee Church.

In the middle of the article, we read that after a couple of unsuccessful attempts by the merged South Milwaukee parish to sell the old St. Adalbert Parish church and school building,

"It was decided that the property would be left for back taxes."

I assume that's in the unwritten contingency planning for every other parish.
