Green Bay Cathedral bells ring for first time in over 20 years

It's a sound that hasn't been heard around St. Francis Xavier Cathedral in downtown Green Bay for more than 20 years.

"I think they are most beautiful when they are swung, about five minutes before the start of worship service," said Rev. Joseph Dorner.

After a $65,000 restoration, four the cathedral's five bells are ringing again.

"There are four in the south tower and the largest one all by itself in the north tower," said Dorner.

Dorner explained the oldest bell dates back to 1854 and sits stationary as its sound echoes through the city.
