The USCC's "Catholic" Charities organization is known for its grants to less-than-Catholic organizations, usually of the Alinsky-ite flavor, and often connected to pro-abortion gangs.via Dad29

There is an incredible amount of pressure within USCCB for the bishops to cave, and it's more than a little disconcerting to hear Archbishop Dolan and Father Snyder say that Obama's sham "accommodation" is a "first step in the right direction". It is a cynical ploy, not a step in the right direction!
Father Snyder has gone even further than Archbishop Dolan, saying: "This compromise enables Catholic Charities USA to not only continue to provide access to quality healthcare to its 70,000 employees and families across the country of many different faiths and backgrounds, but also guarantees the continued delivery of vital services to the more than 10 million people living in need across the country."
Representatives from Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee will take part in a community leaders briefing Friday morning at the White House. Executive Director James Brennan and Operations Services Director Sister Toni Gradisnik will join Catholic Charities representatives from around the country for the gathering, where they’ll discuss their programs and the challenges they face as non-profit human service agencies.MJS
The meeting is expected to include presentations by, among others, the White House Office of Public Engagement and the Office of Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships. While in Washington, Brennan and Gradisnik will meet with Catholic Charities USA advocacy staff and celebrate Mass with Cardinal Theodore McCarrick.

Lawyers for three of the Catholic Charities agencies will seek an injunction from a Sangamon County judge on Tuesday.
In a letter sent last week to Catholic Charities in the dioceses of Peoria, Joliet, Springfield and Belleville, the Department of Children and Family Services told all four agencies that the state could not accept its signed contracts for the 2012 fiscal year because “your agency has made it clear that it does not intend to comply with the Illinois Religious Freedom Protection and Civil Union Act.”
“That law applies to foster care and adoption services,” each letter stated. “Thus, there is no meeting of the minds as to the [Fiscal Year 2012] Foster Care and Adoption Contracts.”
Last month, Catholic Charities in the dioceses of Springfield, Peoria and Joliet sued the Illinois attorney general and DCFS for threatening to enforce new policies that accommodate civil unions. The three agencies asked the court to declare that they are legally justified to preserve their current policy of exclusively granting licenses to married couples and single, non-cohabiting individuals and referring couples in civil unions to other child welfare agencies.
