Saint Padre Pio Relics to Visit Good Help Shrine Oct 14
The relics of Saint Pio of Pietrelcina, more commonly known as Padre Pio, will visit the National Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help on Sunday, October 14, 2018 for public veneration from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Most Reverend David Ricken, Bishop of Green Bay, will celebrate Mass in honor of Padre Pio at 11 a.m.
Padre Pio was known for his powers of healing and for being adorned with the stigmata. Stigmata is terminology the Catholic Church uses to describe the five wounds that appeared on Jesus Christ’s body during the passion, appearing on the forehead, hands, wrists and feet. Around the time of the first World War, Padre Pio had a vision where Christ pierced his side. A short time later, on September 20, 1918, Jesus appeared to him again and Padre Pio received his full stigmata. Padre Pio is the first priest in the Catholic Church to be stigmatized, which remained with him until his death in 1968. Pope John Paul II canonized Padre Pio in 2002.

LseTrib: Pilgrims flock to Padre Pio relics in La Crosse for prayer, healing
They came by the hundreds, by the busloads and by the carloads — pilgrims traveled hundreds of miles from at least five states to view and honor relics of St. Padre Pio Wednesday at St. Joseph the Workman in La Crosse.
At the rate of 500 an hour, they started lining up outside the cathedral at a pace that promised to far surpass the 2,000 minimum turnout that officials of the La Crosse Diocese expected and up to 4,000 possible.

Reminder: Padre Pio’s relics to stop in Wisconsin: La Crosse 20 Sept; Milwaukee 21 Sept
A glove and blood-stained cotton gauze are among the relics of St. Pio of Pietrelcina — better known as “Padre Pio” — that will be on display Sept. 20 in La Crosse, Wisconsin, and Sept. 21 in Milwaukee.The Catholic Spirit
The relics have been on tour in the United States and will be traveling to 11 dioceses this fall. The relics will not be stopping in the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis.
They will be on display 9 a.m.–7 p.m. at the Cathedral of St. Joseph the Workman in La Crosse and 9 a.m. –9 p.m. at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in Milwaukee.
Also displayed for veneration will be “crusts” from St. Pio’s wounds, a lock of his hair, his mantle and a handkerchief that was soaked with his sweat hours before he died in 1968.

Relics of St Padre Pio, a Capuchin priest who bore the stigmata of Jesus, will be on public display in several US dioceses and archdioceses in May and again in the autumn.
The Saint Pio Foundation announced that the tour corresponds with the 130th anniversary of the Italian-born saint’s birth.

Padre Eusebio said: "I was going to London by plane, against Padre Pio’s suggestion not to use this mean of transport. When we were flying over the Channel, a violent storm put the aeroplane in danger. Amid the general terror I prayed and, without knowing what to do, I sent my Guardian Angel to Padre Pio. When I went back to St. Giovanni Rotondo I met Padre Pio who said to me, 'Are you well? Is everything OK?' I answered, 'I thought I’d die,' the saintly padre responded, 'then why don't you obey?' I responded 'But I have sent you my Guardian Angel . . . ' Padre Pio then said, 'Fortunately, he arrived just in time!' "
