Peter Kelly family express gratitude for meeting $100,000 mark

It is so amazing how this goal was met is just 9 days, we truly cannot thank everyone enough!!! It is such a testament on how much Pete was loved. As we can see by so many comments, Pete really did touch so many lives.

Christie would like to thank each and every one of you for all of the support for her and the kids. She said they are doing well considering the circumstances and that the kids are unbelievably strong, just like their dad. Please continue to keep Christie and family in your prayers for the upcoming trial, as you can imagine it is going to be very difficult for them.

Again- Thank you all so much!!

I haven't seen any updates on the murder trial in the news.  Please, please pray for the family.  We know what Christian duty calls them to do, but don't you dare think they ought to be capable by a snap of the fingers after this grave injustice.  They need a landslide of God's grace.  I don't know if I would be capable of forgiveness in their situation.

Update on the Rogan and Kelly families

The death of Mike Rogan has gotten national and international coverage now.  A few articles:

USA Today coverage:

Daily Mail UK coverage:

An update from the GoFundMe page:
We and some family members were interviewed by the Associated Press and three local news media outlets earlier today. The Rogan's story was picked up by national media and is now being shared worldwide! We will continue to update the page below with the latest media coverage.

We also learned of Mike's funeral details today, which are contained with his obituary in a link below.

Again, today, many of you have asked us to raise the bar. With prayerful humility, we are doing so once more. In addition to taking care of their immediate financial needs, the goal of $500,000 will allow Niki to have the option to continue homeschooling their children, as Mike would have wanted.
The family has surpassed the $300,000 mark which is just fantastic!

Also in the even more frustrating case of Peter Kelly, I found a detailed article in The Asanti County News on the details of the murder investigation.  I hope many can also reach out to support and pray for the Kelly family.  It makes me incredibly angry, which it ought to do, I can't imagine the devastation the family must feel.

The latest update shows that they have not yet reached the $100,000 mark.  There have been less updates, as I'm sure the family searches for answers after this great injustice and it appears some commenters have even "chosen sides" over who was in the wrong in the events that lead to Peter's murder(safe to say; it's the guy doing the stabbing).  I hope people can also contribute to the support of the widowed Kelly family and their five young children, and perhaps at least leave a comment of assured prayers and support for the victims in this tragedy.

Catholic father of five young children stabbed to death near St. Croix Falls, requests for prayers and support

It has not been a good week for Wisconsin Catholic families.  Same age as me, same number of kids.
Prosecutors say Acre-Kendall stabbed Peter Kelly, a 34-year-old father of five who lived in St. Croix Falls, Wis., during an altercation on the river Tuesday evening.

Two teenagers who were with Acre-Kendall and the man who was with Kelly have given their accounts of how the stabbing took place on the Wisconsin side of the river, about 40 miles northeast of the Twin Cities.

Visitation for Kelly will be at 10 a.m. [last] Saturday, one hour before funeral services at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Balsam Lake, Wis.

As of Friday night, a GoFundMe page had raised more than $76,000 for Kelly's family. Organizers of the page, at gofundme.com/s7y8rg4, have set a goal of raising $100,000.

Friday afternoon, Acre-Kendall made his first appearance in court, where bail was set at $125,000. His next hearing is Wednesday.

“He’s a young kid, but I don’t feel for him at all,” Michael Kelly said of Acre-Kendall. “I see … five young kids at home waiting for their father.”

In other articles, it mentioned that he was also very involved coaching wrestling.
Fishing was one of Kelly’s favorite pursuits, along with hunting and wrestling. He would often go to work at 4 a.m. so he could get back in time to coach before dinner, Clark said.

“For somebody who’s 34 years old and working 50 hours a week and has five kids, the amount of time he gave back to the community was unbelievable,” he said.
And as their GoFundMe requests, especially remember this family in your prayers, and if possible assist with the financial burden now placed on this very young family.
This campaign has been set up to help Peter Kelly's wife, Christie, and their 5 children- Kellen, Payton, Miles, Auggie and Molly with what will be hard days, weeks and years ahead for this very young family. Peter was tragically killed while fishing on the river April 14th. Peter and his wife were a one income family, your donations will go to help Christie and the future of their 5 very young children. Our hearts are so heavy with the loss of Peter. Please donate financially if you are able, if not, please, please pray for Peter's family.
