CatholicVote visits Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe

Hundreds of pilgrims from Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois and Michigan were greeted with sunny skies and beautiful fall colors at the Shrine to Our Lady of Guadalupe which rests among the beautiful bluffs just a few miles south of La Crosse, Wisconsin.
The Shrine, just three years old, was the perfect setting for a pilgrimage of prayer for families and the unborn for Sunday. The first Sunday of October is celebrated in the Church as Respect Life Sunday.
The event was not a political rally. In fact, there were no scheduled speeches. There was Confession, Mass and plenty of prayer time.
Several families expressed the desire to repeat the pilgrimage every year of Respect Life Sunday to continue the prayer for families and for the unborn. That decision, said organizers of the event, ultimately rests with the Holy Spirit.
Take a look at the photos taken at the Shrine over at the CatholicVote Flickr page.
