GB GazetteRepresentatives of three Green Bay private schools and private-school advocates joined today to support a plan to bring a school-choice voucher program to Green Bay.

Proponents of the plan say the program would provide lower- to lower-middle income families an opportunity to send children to private or parochial schools.
The plan would allow families living in the Green Bay School District to send children to any school participating in the program. Families would receive a voucher estimated at about $6,445, and if costs are lower, vouchers also would be lower.
David L. Ricken, bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Green Bay, said in a statement released today that he endorses the efforts of the Green Bay Area Catholic Education school system to participate in the program for next school year.
Green Bay diocesan officials have said they will study the particulars of the proposed legislation both as a diocese and in concert with four other dioceses through the Wisconsin Catholic Conference.
Therefore, brethren, stand fast; and hold the traditions which you have learned, whether by word, or by our epistle. 2 Thes 2:15

The picture above is from Notre Dame de la Baie Academy in Green Bay, not St. Norbert Academy. Though the school has a lot of Norbertine roots, it's named in honor of Our Lady.
Thanks, my mind is gone today! :)
