Vacation hijinx

When looking for a church to attend while on vacation, if I see "All are welcome.... Let us build a house where love can dwell... " on your flippin homepage, I will be sure to drive hours out of my way to avoid your liturgy at all costs.  Where's a Polka Mass when you need one?

You can find the Polka Mass in Kenosha, Wi. Arms wide open for the Polka Mass, but not so much for the Latin Mass.

Absolutely right. And stay clear of any parish that describes itself as a community "in the catholic tradition."

I've had some bad experiences in the Superior Diocese. It makes me wonder what the heck is going on up there.

One of the banes of my life in the business world was the crafting of the ‘Mission Statement’. A room full of highly paid managers would spend hours agonizing over words and phrases until an acceptable formula was hammered out. A complete waste of time - just do your job!

I have the same feeling about parishes which tout their ‘Mission Statements’. Our mission statement was spelled out by Our Lord a long time ago. It starts: “Going therefore, teach all nations, baptizing them…”

No need to try and improve on God’s Word…
