Green Bay abortion center closes

Green Bay residents woke up this morning to find their city free of an abortion center for the first time in decades as Bellin Hospital completed its acquisition of Ob-Gyn Associates. We shared that this news was in the works last week.

Earlier this month, Green Bay's long-time 40 Days for Life leader Jim Ball wrote to his participants "We also have it from a highly placed source on the inside that your prayer and your sidewalk witness is the ONLY reason this happened."

I'm sure that there are no words to describe how Jim and his team feel today. "Shield of Roses," a Catholic, pro-life prayer group has been holding a weekly vigil at the site since 1978, and Green Bay was the first 40 Days for Life campaign outside of Texas.

Jim came to Madison last night to fire up the local 40 Days for Life team, and held a press conference in Green Bay this morning to celebrate the news. Green Bay's 40 Days for Life campaign now moves to the local Planned Parenthood abortion referral center. The last remaining abortion facility in Northeastern Wisconsin is Appleton's Planned Parenthood.
