Today we honor the Sacred Heart of Jesus (read more about this devotion here). If you haven't consecrated your home by Enthronement of the Sacred Heart, today is a perfect day to do so! If you've already done so, it is a good day to renew the consecration! It is also a good day to pray the Litany of the Sacred Heart. You can download the Litany, in Microsoft Word .doc format, in English and in Latin.This beautiful icon is thanks to the Institute of St Joseph in Tilden, WI. The Diocese and the Cathedral in La Crosse each have original icons written by the Institute; they are not just pictures of icons. We have a picture of the Cathedral icon in our house.
A plenary indulgence is granted to those who, under the usual conditions, publicly make an Act of Reparation to the Sacred Heart on this day.
If you are near La Crosse, there is a Traditional Latin Mass tonight at 6 pm at the Shrine church.

Thanks, Matt, for your post and mention of our very humble monastic community/association of the faithful.
When Archbishop Burke commissioned this icon, we were most humbled and honored...and our new home, the place of our Oratory of "Cor Jesu" and future home of of our Priory of Cor Jesu is at Sacred Heart Church, Edson, the former parish Church, where Father Charles Goldsmith over one hundred years ago, used to come to celebrate Holy Mass for the German/Irish community that was forming here. He used to walk from Chippewa Falls to the Parish in Edson!
We know we belong here because Fr. Goldsmith, with the permission of the Bishop, consecrated a bell that we ring still today to announce Holy Mass on Sunday, to St. Joseph, our Patron.
Can you believe it? Over one hundred years ago, St. Joseph took possession of this place; and now we are preparing to live a monastic life there. God is so good.

Wow, that's excellent Father. I didn't realize you were/are moving to Edson. Your icons at the Shrine were my first exposure to this beautiful Eastern tradition.
