Additionally, the Diocese of La Crosse Office of Sacred Worship and the Shrine will be sponsoring a Gregorian Chant Workshop September 17 and 18. This workshop will feature conductor Scott Turkington, along with Chris Carstens from the Diocese of La Crosse. Please visit our website by following this link for more information and to register Click Here.

The participants in this workshop will be singing at a vigil Mass at the Shrine on Saturday, September 18 at 4:00 PM. Please come and hear the product of their hard work!
I'm hoping to attend the Chant Workshop.  It's a bit pricey at $85 but can I put a price on it when implored to stand fast; and hold the traditions which you have learned....

I also ran across this from Relevant Radio.
OLOG Shrine La Crosse
Join Rev. Francis “Father Rocky” Hoffman of Relevant Radio for a Marian Day of Reflection and Transitus of Saint Francis at the beautiful Shrine in La Crosse.

The day begins with confession, followed by Sunday Mass. Later, pilgrims may participate in a Rosary Walk through the Shrine’s Rosary Walk and The Transitus, a commemoration of the passing of St. Francis with Vespers, readings and veneration of a Franciscan relic. There is no admission charge or pre-registration necessary but you are advised to make reservations at the Shrine restaurant (Culina Mariana 608-788-8400) in advance as many pilgrims are expected.

Marian Reflection and Transitus of St. Francis details:

The Franciscans have some great feasts.  When I was learning the faith I always thought of St. Francis as the hippy saint.  But this is because of the boring modern Franciscan storyteller.  Nobody wants to tell the story of St Francis' meeting with the sultan of Egypt.  Or the fact St. Francis was devoted to the Blessed Virgin Mary.  Or the fact the poor friar was complete and totally loyal to the pope and bishops(hello Apostolic Visitation).  St. Francis, ora pro nobis!
