Friday night, on The World Over with Raymond Arroyo, Bishop Morlino was asked about that letter. Being the good man that he is, he was transparent and said that someone drafted the letter for him and in his editing process he asked the line to be removed. Remember, the priests of the SSPX do NOT have faculties validly to absolve sins – yet. They will (sort of) during the upcoming Year of Mercy. They cannot be witnesses for marriages because, again, they lack jurisdiction. No proper authority has given them the delegation to do so. That’s necessary. Their claims of emergency powers just don’t hold water.
Bp. Morlino’s main point was that going to the SSPX isn’t worth the spiritual risk when it comes to absolution and marriage. Also, he makes the point that by frequenting their chapels over time one can run the risk of distancing himself from the Holy Father and local bishop.
Reminder: In his letter, published in the diocesan newspaper, Bishop Morlino was addressing himself to the faithful in the Diocese of Madison, for whom he has the care of souls.

EWTN documentary on St. Anthony School in Milwaukee
This was done last spring. I guess having a booming school like this is one of the reasons to capitulate on Common Core. Still though -
On Friday September 5, 2014 the new chapel at St. Anthony High School, dedicated to St. Michael the Archangel, welcomed our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament for the first time. First Friday adoration will be a new tradition at St. Anthony High School to help further the mission of St. Anthony’s, but also for reparation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
Screening of Fr. Joe Walijewski documentary April 27th at La Crosse Diocese
The Father Joseph Walijewski Legacy Guild is hosting a screening event on Monday, April 27, at the Holy Cross Diocesan Center, of the recent production “A Pencil in Our Lord’s Hand.” There will be a social gathering starting at 6:30 pm with the film being shown at 7:00 pm. After the showing, Bishop Callahan, the show’s producer Bob Dolan, and others will host a panel discussion about the cause, the project, and the impact it has had on their lives.

EWTN to air documentary on life and work of Wisconsin priest Fr. Walijewski April 11 at 9 pm
MADISON – A 60-minute program will be shown this weekend on the life and work of the Rev. Joseph Walijewski, the late central Wisconsin priest for whom the Roman Catholic Diocese of La Crosse is working to have declared a saint.continue at Stevens Point Journal
The program, produced and hosted by Bob Dolan of Bob Dolan Productions, will be at 9 p.m. Saturday on the Eternal Word Television Network, or EWTN.
In March 2013, Bishop William Callahan formed a tribunal to study and document the life of Walijewski. The group includes priests and laypeople who are responsible for interviewing witnesses and producing documents that eventually will be sent to the Vatican to support the effort to make Walijewski a saint. The work of the tribunal is expected to take about five years.

Walk to Mary Documentary Broadcast on EWTN
GREEN BAY, Wis. (Sept. 29, 2014) -- The 2014 Walk to Mary proved to be a tremendous success with nearly 700 participants. The event, a walking pilgrimage supporting Catholic education for youth, started at the National Shrine of St. Joseph, located at St. Norbert Abbey in De Pere, Wis., and followed a 21-mile route to the Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help in Champion, Wis.
EWTN Global Catholic Network and Dolan Productions, LLC filmed this year’s pilgrimage and produced a 30-minute television special. It will be broadcast on EWTN on Oct. 9, 2014, at 10 p.m. and Oct. 10, 2014, at 2 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. CDT. Bob Dolan of Dolan Productions, LLC and his television crew walked every mile with the pilgrims and discussed their journey with them. Dolan Productions, LLC has produced nearly a dozen national broadcasts for EWTN, including "An American Apparition," which told the story of the apparition that occurred at the Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help.

continue at Spero NewsCardinal Raymond Burke, the Prefect of the Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Signatura (the highest canon law court in the Catholic Church) corrects confusion spread by those who say the Church is going to change teaching about divorced and remarried receiving Holy Communion. On June 29, EWTN aired an interview of Cardinal Burke by Thomas McKenna, president of Catholic Action for Faith and Family. McKenna asked Cardinal Burke about proposals that the upcoming extraordinary synod of bishops will change the Church's teaching on remarriage after divorce. Cardinal Burke explained that this could never happen and that Cardinal Kasper caused confusion when his talk to bishops in April was publicized.
The Church can't bend to the culture when the culture errors, said Cardinal Burke:
"Some people say 'Well the culture is predominantly divorcist and therefore the Church in her practice has to adapt herself to the situation of the culture.' That is not the nature of the Church. When the Church confronts a culture that is in some way weak or defective, or failing, as our culture is, Her mission is to call the culture to conversion and to teach ever more strongly the truth about marriage and to help, of course, individuals to live according to that truth. I think for instance of example in France and also in the United States, of associations of those who are divorced who meet regularly to encourage one another to remain faithful to their marriage (to their first marriage) because they believe very sincerely in the Lord's teaching that marriage was in fact, or is in fact, a way to salvation, and so these are the kinds of things that we ought to be encouraging …" SeeYouTube.
In a divorcist culture, divorce persons believe they are single again, and if feel like it, they should start dating again to find a "new spouse." In some particular situations, marriages are not valid. The Catholic Church with a decree of invalidity recognizes these situations officially. But all marriages wherein someone filed for divorce are not invalid.

Duluth priest to host “The Papacy: A Living History” on EWTN
continue at Duluth TribThe Rev. Richard Kunst from Duluth’s St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church will host a show on papal artifacts airing next week on the Catholic cable television station ETWN. The five-part series, called “The Papacy: A Living History,” was filmed in Duluth with episodes shown at 2 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. He is joined by the Rev. Ryan Moravitz from Immaculate Heart Catholic Church in Crosslake.
EWTN can be viewed on expanded cable in Duluth or on satellite systems.
