FSSP parish in Joliet, IL recently finished renovation project
Fr. Magiera first began contemplating a beautification project for St. Joseph Church during Easter Week of 2017. He contacted his friend, Mr. Todd Brausch of Todd Brausch Studios, with whom he had worked on the restoration of Holy Rosary Church in Indianapolis back in 2008. Fr. Magiera first saw Mr. Brausch’s work in the restoration project he did at the Oratory of Ss. Philomena and Cecilia, the FSSP’s apostolate in Brookville, Indiana.continue at FSSP

Traditional Solemn High Mass this Saturday at St. Paul's Cathedral
FSSPThe Most Reverend Andrew Cozzens, Auxiliary Bishop of Minneapolis and Saint Paul, has generously offered to confer the Sacrament of Confirmation in the Extraordinary Form in the Cathedral of St. Paul at 10am on Saturday, October 11, 2014. Bishop Cozzens will confirm over 40 children from the Archdiocese using the ancient rite of the Church.
A Traditional Solemn High Mass celebrating the Maternity of the Blessed Virgin Mary will follow the Confirmation ceremony. The majestic and beautiful Cathedral of St. Paul, which will celebrate its 100th anniversary next year, has not seen the Traditional Latin Mass celebrated in such glory in decades, and the Catholic faithful are welcome and very much encouraged to attend this historic event.
Bishop Cozzens will make his entrance into the Cathedral at 9:30am and will be assisted by members of the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter and seminarians from St. Paul’s Seminary. We offer in advance our sincere thanks to the good bishop for his generous assistance with both the Mass and Confirmations.
I'm told this is a post-conciliar first for the Cathedral?

His Mightiness, Most Rev. Robert C. Morlino, Bishop of the Diocese of Madison (aka “The Extraordinary Ordinary”), descended upon Nebraska recently to ordain men of the Fraternity of St. Peter to the holy diaconate.

CNS: Tradition and the future
I've got to ask; what has changed at Catholic News Service? This is as impressive a video as I've seen them produce, and they continue to come out with thought provoking, meaningful content. A few years ago they were a laughing stock; wasn't Catholic News Agency partly created because of how poorly the CNS was contributing to the Catholic media? I continue to be impressed by this fresh new direction. Then again, maybe my memory fails me and CNS has always been excellent.

FSSP pilgrimage to Guadalupe Shrine in La Crosse
The seminarians of the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter made a pilgrimage up to Minneapolis to visit their new apostolate at All Saints Parish. On the way back to Nebraska, they stopped to make a pilgrimage at the Guadalupe Shrine in La Crosse. They had a Solemn High Mass Sunday, which was a first for me, just beautiful. One of the founding priests gave a great homily on the early days of the order and the crisis they overcame. It was fitting as the Friars of the Immaculate also attending face their own crisis today. There were lots of guys, and they needed places to stay so we hosted 3 of the seminarians at our house. Good young men, I forgot how young, I guess I'm getting old. I was talking about Cardinal Burke and none of them knew who he was; a good reminder that not everyone lives in my own little Badger Catholic world. They said they stopped at the Mall of America too which I laughed thinking about the gawkers onlooking as 70 men in cassocks walk around together.

New FSSP Apostolate at All Saint's parish in Minneapolis
Edit: this parish was one of those which was slated for closing, now it's being given new life. We'd earlier felt that the Archbishop's subordinates were being deliberately unfair in their choice of parishes to close, but this really makes up for that.HT Rorate
Minneapolis is one of the more Liberal cities in the United States. Its conservative working class community in Northeast Minneapolis should appreciate this.

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
I am happy to announce that the parish of All Saints of Minneapolis will have a pastor and an associate to serve you beginning next month.
As you have likely seen and heard in parish communications over the past few months, the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter has offered to send two of its members to care for the parish of All Saints, which has been without a pastor for more than a year. After consultation with your parish trustees and your parish pastoral council, as well as the presbyteral council, a representative body of priests from across the Archdiocese, I have accepted the Fraternity’s offer.
Father Peter Bauknecht and Father Simon Harkins will begin their service at All Saints on July 3, 2013. Fr. Bauknecht will serve as pastor.
As you may know, the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter is a Catholic Clerical Society of Apostolic Life dedicated to providing Catholics access to the extraordinary form of the liturgy according to the liturgical books of 1962. You can find out more about the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter at their website: www.fssp.org. Mass in the extraordinary form will be offered at All Saints. Mass in the current form to which you are accustomed will be offered, as well.[It's unclear if that's the FSSP or a diocesan priest offering it] A Mass schedule will be established, in consultation with All Saints parish leadership.[So perhaps it's the hybrid approach where the diocese and the Fraternity share the parish?]
Please join me in welcoming Father Bauknecht and Father Harkins. I will be praying for these priests as they begin service in your parish and I ask that you join me supporting their work through prayer, as well.

FSSP Superior General to offer Mass at St. Augustine Church in St. Paul
Father John Echert, Pastor of Holy Trinity and St. Augustine churches in So. St. Paul, has invited The Superior General of the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter (FSSP), the Very Rev. John Berg to offer the 11:30 Traditional Latin Mass at the Church of St. Augustine (408 3rd St. N. in So. St. Paul) on the 27th of November. The Fraternity of St. Peter is an international priestly fraternity established by Pope John Paul II to provide the traditional Mass and Sacraments to Catholics around the world under the provisions established by the motu proprio Ecclesia Dei.St Augustine also is the place where that potential Eucharistic miracle occurred a while back.
There will be a reception for Father Berg in the church hall immediately after Mass, at which time he will also offer a brief presentation on the general mission of the Fraternity of St. Peter. So please--tell your friends and family members, forward this email to your Catholic contacts, pray for the success of this event, and mark your calendars for the 27th of November.
