Respect forLouis Joliet SocietyLifeLGBTQ Month at Marquette
Marquette, Georgetown and other Catholic colleges and universities have been exposed for replacing pro-life awareness activities with LGBTQ activities over the course of October, “Respect for Life Month.”
Indeed, a quick search of Marquette’s website shows that LGBTQ activities have abounded over the month of October while Pro-Life activities are, evidently, non-existent. (Please let us know if you can find any. Note that on this webpage, “Respect Life Month” themes include LGBTQ persons, the death penalty and immigration and poverty. But where are the activities to raise awareness of the murder of the unborn and the sanctity of every human life from conception to natural death?).
One question: Why? Please feel free to—respectfully— put this question to those charge with advancing Marquette’s mission and ministry and with Marquette leadership.
Therefore, brethren, stand fast; and hold the traditions which you have learned, whether by word, or by our epistle. 2 Thes 2:15

Newman Society profiles Louis Joliet Society Advocating Catholic Renewal at Marquette University
A group of concerned alumni, parents and associates are pushing for Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wis., to renew its commitment to Catholic identity after numerous scandals in recent years. The Louis Joliet Society exposes events at Marquette that endanger its Catholic identity, and the group hopes its efforts will spur change and renewal at the Jesuit institution.continue at Cardinal Newman Society
The Louis Joliet Society aims to “reignite a genuine reverence for the Catholic intellectual tradition the University was founded to advance, bring clarity to the concept of true Catholic identity and communicate why it is so critical that Marquette sustain this identity in our increasingly secular world,” said Mary Jarvis, a founding member of the group, in an interview with The Cardinal Newman Society.
The Newman Society has reported multiple issues and scandals at Marquette University over the years. A pro-abortion politician has been invited to speak, a radical theologian has been awarded honors by the University’s ethics society, and University-sponsored workshops and events have exposed students to questionable and immoral sexual content.
Last year, the University generated significant controversy with its suspension of political science professor John McAdams, who was censured by the administration for a post on his personal blog, Marquette Warrior. McAdams covered a situation wherein a Marquette student was purportedly prohibited from discussing same-sex marriage in an ethics class, because the class instructor claimed that such a topic would be “offensive” to homosexual students.
The next LGBTQ Mass at Marquette is scheduled for November 19

about Louis Joliet Society:
The Louis Joliet Society is an organized coalition of Marquette alumni, faculty, students, parents and associates committed to the restoration and defense of authentic Catholic identity at Marquette University. We hope to serve as a respectful and effective influence in guiding the university back to its former status as a leading institution in the advancement of the Catholic intellectual tradition.
Specifically, the coalition will work to bring Marquette University into alignment with its self-professed Catholic identity and the guidelines set in place by Pope Saint John Paul II, namely the Catechism of the Catholic Church, Ex Corde Ecclesiae and the Application for Ex Corde Ecclesiae for the United States . We will do this by:
• Addressing directly with Marquette administration activities and events on campus inconsistent with Catholic teaching
• Issuing reports to inform alumni, other members of the Marquette family and the media of instances and events that detract from the Catholic identity of the university as well as those that enhance that identity.
• Supporting Marquette student groups and efforts that are consistent with Catholic teaching and that seek to strengthen authentic Catholic identity on campus.
